Providing emergency medical service for over 40 years

Since 1971, Acadian Ambulance's membership program has operated under adherence to strict state and federal requirements. The goal of the Acadian membership program is to provide benefits to members when they use the ambulance service. Currently, sixty-five percent of our members are 62 years of age or older and are Medicare recipients. We also have a large number of members who are simply in need of convalescent care and protection in emergency medical situations.

What is the cost of a membership?

  • $75.00 for a standard membership (individual or family)
  • $60.00 for a person with traditional Medicare and a supplement policy

The 20% discount on billed ambulance charges is a substantial value for Medicare recipients, relieving them of co-insurance and deductible expenses for any medically-approved transports.

Membership works with insurance

Members may be responsible for a portion of their discounted charge for ambulance services since ambulance transportation is not always covered 100% by private insurance, Medicare, or Medicaid.

In some cases, members covered by Medicare or Medicaid are covered 100% for the cost of a pre-hospital ambulance transport due to a sudden illness or accident.

Regardless of insurance coverage, your Acadian membership guarantees you a 20% discount on all billed ambulance service charges within the Acadian Ambulance service area. Members can expect to be responsible for payment of up to 80% of all charges.

Acadian takes an assignment of the member's rights under their insurance policy and attempts to collect directly from the insurance company.

Please note that many insurance policies don't cover trips to doctors' offices, even if authorized by the physician.
